Sure, it's alright to have that piece of garlic bread that comes with your pasta, but having potato wedges smothered in garlic dip along with onion soup is a bit too much. Unless you're deliberately trying to ward off your date with bad breath, stick to dishes that your breath spray and freshener can work with.

6. Don't pick your teeth in front of the table. If you feel a little morsel lodged between your teeth that just won't come off, excuse yourself, pick up a toothpick and go deal with your problem where your date won't see you grimacing and opening wide while flexing your toothpick-wielding hand inside your mouth.

These are basic manners, but a lot of people surprisingly forget them.
